The shell is a wonderful protective option for a day or two, but if you want complete covering, you should invest in an Outer sofa cover.
According to Outer, the wicker sofas’ legs are also constructed of “polished stainless steel that will never corrode.” We haven’t had any rusting issues with this sofa in the two months we’ve owned it. Despite being kept outdoors the whole time we’ve been testing it — yes, even during Hurricane Henri — the wicker of the couch looks just as good as it did on day one.

Cleaning your Outer couch may be done in two methods. Outside, you may clean the covers with a hose and dish detergent. You may also remove the covers from the cushions and wash them in your washing machine if stains are stubborn or you want to completely clean them before storing them for the winter. Remember to preserve the protective film that is connected to the Velcro on the covers, as we stated previously. If you wash them with the Velcro exposed, you risk getting pilled fabric from it snagging in the machine.
The cushions from Outer are “fade-proof, stain-resistant, water-resistant, and simple to clean,” according to the company. During our testing, we left the cushions exposed for a few days to evaluate how well they would hold up, even though it was a nuisance to do so. We also poured Coke on the cushions, which will undoubtedly happen at some time, to check how stain-resistant they are.

We just machine-washed our covers once, but it was well worth it since they came out smelling wonderful and looking almost new. While we were able to minimize the bird poop marks on the cushions to tiny dots, these were the only stains that we were unable to completely remove.
We’ll say it again: if you purchase outdoor furniture and want to leave it outdoors for an extended length of time, your cushions will undoubtedly get filthy. We’d go with the darker Pacific Fog Gray cushions next time since we believe they’ll be more forgiving.
Outer’s Wicker line is beautiful and very comfy, but it is not inexpensive. The price of a wicker outdoor loveseat begins at $2,400, and the wicker three-seat couch we examined costs $3,550. Outer is no exception to the rule that good outdoor furniture is costly.
